Elizabeth Firebaugh Brunk

Older 2's, 3's and Enrichment Classes

Mrs. Brunk holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from University of Central Florida.  Her son attended Heritage Learning Center as a four year old with our very own Mrs. Hogan.  Finding the school an absolutely wonderful place, she decided to apply in the fall of 1999 and has been teaching Two and Three-year-old classes here ever since.  Outside of Heritage, Mrs. Brunk enjoys gardening, cooking (especially on the grill), and most of all, spending quality time with her friends and family.  She is married to Mr. Randy Brunk; together they are the proud parents of two daughters and one son, who will be attending college this fall.

Stacy Castle

2's, 3's & 4"s Classes

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Stacy received her degree from American Univerisity in Washington, DC and has been teaching preschool for 16 years.  She has been married to husband David for 31 years and together they have a son, 3 daughters and a baby granddaughter.  The Castles lived and worked at The Stony Brook School on the north shore of Long Island, NY for 12 years before moving to Annapolis in 2001 where Stacy began per preschool career at HLC in 2002.  After 7 years, Stacy taught at the Heritage School in Philadelphia for 2 years and returned to Annapolis to teach locally at Creative Garden Learning Center and PASA.  She returned to HLC in 2017 and says, "It was like coming home - there's no place like Heritage - it is one of the happiest places on earth!"

In addition to teaching, Stacy has run children's sports camps and coached girls youth lacrosse.  In her spare time, Stacy is an avid swimmer, reader and active member of the Annapolis EP Church.

Jenn Graic

2's Classes & Co-Director

A native Marylander, Jenn attended Annapolis Senior High School and graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor's of Science in 1996.  Jenn began teaching in 2008 and came on board at Heritage in 2010.  Jenn enjoys all aspects of teaching and continues to be a life-long learner.  She finds that even the youngest students at Heritage teach her new things everyday!  Now happily married for fifteen years and mom to two previous HLC graduates now 14 and 12., you can find Jenn actively involved with her girls figure skating at the Navy Brigade Sport Complex, Girl Scouts, enjoying the outdoors (kayaking and SUPing, biking, camping, and walking) and spending time with her family and crazy mini-labradoodle, Nick!

Jeannie Heimann

Enrichment Classes and Co-Director

I am Jeannie Heimann and I have been working with children for over 30 years.  I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education and went on to get my Master's in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Development from UMBC.  I have taught children from 2 years of age all the way through 14 years old.  My favorite age group has always been preschoolers!  Preschoolers want to learn about the world just as badly as we want to teach it to them.  Every day teaching preschoolers brings about new development, a new creative skill, a new funny moment for everyone to laugh at, - and who knows what else!  I truly consider it the best job in the world!  It is hard to believe that I am beginning my 11th year at HLC!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time at the beach with my husband Dave and 3 sons, Jake (18), Noah (15) and Matthew (13).

Kathy Hogan

4's Classes

I'm Kathy Hogan and I have been a teacher at Heritage Learning Center since 1993.  The years have just flown by.  I guess that adage about time flies when you're having fun is true!  I have always enjoyed working with young children.  I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a major in Early Childhood Education.  I grew up in Connecticut but moved to Maryland in 1989.  I have been a youth coach for girls lacrosse and also a PTA President.  I love being involved with children.

I have a great husband and four grown children (3 boys and 1 girl).  I also have four grandchildren (2 boys and 2 girls).  I get very excited when my family comes to visit and will sometimes have my grandchildren come to school with me.  My youngest granddaughter will be attending Heritage this year.

Heritage Learning Center has become a second family to me.

Ashby McDonald

2's, 3's & 4's Classes

A native of Richmond, Virginia, Ashby earned her Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University.  Heritage Learning Center became a home-away-from home after she moved to Annapolis some twenty plus years ago.  Both of her own children attended Heritage and she credits the school for helping to give them a successful start to their own academic journeys.  Ashby truly believes Heritage is a great place for the littest of learners and embodies Christ's love for children.  Her outside interests include all manner of flora and fauna, which extends to the family cat, much to her husband's chagrin.

Joelle Roloff

3's Classes

Joelle has been working with children for 30 years.  She has taught a wide-variety of ages to include pre-school through grade eight in various settings.  Joelle's degrees are in education, both at the early-childhood and elementary levels.  Joelle's philosophy is that children area gift from God and childhood is a most precious time.  It is at the pre-school level that the foundation for all learning, both academic and social, takes place.  Joelle honored and blessed to be working with the youngest of learners at Heritage Learning Center.  Heritage is a beautiful place to learn.

Lynn Schasiepen

2's Classes

A native of Connecticut, Lynn graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C.  She loves teaching and especially loves being with the 2 year old class.  Years of teaching adults wasn't nearly as fun!  Lynn and her husband, Craig, have two boys.  When Lynn isn't in the classroom you can generally find her enjoying the outdoors.  Activities like skiing, ice hockey, camping and swimming keep Lynn and her family very busy!
